If you are responsible for planning a bridal shower or are invited to a shower and are not sure of proper gift etiquette, there are a few things you should know when it comes to dealing with gifts. Choosing to wear something old expresses a desire to retain your connections with your family after you enter into your marriage and begin your own family.
Deciding who will throw the bridal shower for the bride is the first thing to consider. It is the maid of honor who will know best what type of party the bride is looking forward to, what she will enjoy and what types of gifts are most appropriate for the bride's taste. Usually, it is not appropriate to hold the bridal shower less than two weeks before the wedding date.
A wedding that does not include a Mass can be approximately 20 minutes long and usually includes readings, hymns and psalms as well as blessings from the priest but does not include a celebration of the Eucharist. The invitations you choose can have any look or feel that you like. It will not be fun if you overspend and are left with a huge credit card bill after the shower.
And be sure to give your guests plenty of time to make arrangements to attend. The two bands could alternate playing their music so that there is never a dull moment at the reception.
